Last week was epic – a few days in the mountains, and a few days at the beach. Super relaxing — lots of time with friends — lots of guitar playing — lots and lots of enjoying Mexican coastal cuisine — lots of michiladas. I’m back in San Miguel and looking forward to another stretch before heading north to Texas, and then on to the Pacific...

We’ve had a good run on beautiful days in San Miguel de Allende. The sun was shining particularly bright this afternoon because the Pope was in Guanajuato. He’s probably still there, doing whatever it is the Pope does. I hope he’s talking to somebody about brining more spicy, Mexican cuisine to the catholic church at large. Something like a jalapeño communion bread would be neat. I’m blogging from an ETN bus on the way from San Miguel to Mexico City. The big plan is to head for the Oaxacan mountains and study Spanish– then rendezvous with some special folks at a...

Cheers to another incredible year gone by, and to the many adventures in the year to come. I owe it to myself to blog more in 2012. That’s one of the many goals I am accomplishing this year. I had hoped to have a list together, something to share online — but the truth is that I have not yet written my two thousand twelve goals. This will be remedied by tomorrow morning. Arrives at la frontera sometime around midnight- long wait – and by noon tomorrow I’ll be in the heart of Texas. If you weren’t at the Shelter Theater in San Rafael last night, I’d be there tonight. Federico Azuz y Alejandro Camarena are playing two shows this week — incredible musicians. Here’s a sound byte from last night: Azuz y Camarena- Live 14.12.11 Check...

It’s another foggy morning in San Miguel. I’m thankful for living in such a dynamic place — the winters mornings are chilly cool; warming to short-sleeve shirt weather by noon. And as summer goes it’s lovely all the time with a brief rain from two to four o’clock… then back to sunny bliss. My plans this morning include following up with connections made last night at the Mac User Group Xmas party — what a...
